Academic Advising
Advising is available to students
admitted to the Smith School of Business
through the Undergraduate Studies
Office, 4th floor of USG Building II.
The office is open Monday through Friday
from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Summer
office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
Advising appointments are generally
available from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday
through Friday. To schedule an
appointment with your assigned advisor
please call 301-738-6079. In addition,
current students can meet with the
advisor on duty by coming to the office
during scheduled walk-in advising hours.
The weekly walk-in advising schedule is
posted on the 4th floor and is also
available by calling 301-738-6079.
(Walk-in advising hours are for current
students. Prospective students should
attend an Admissions Workshop, Transfer
Visit or Open House. Due to the size of
our program we can not meet with
prospective students during our weekly
walk-in advising hours.)
All Smith School undergraduate
students are assigned an academic
advisor. Students enrolled in the Smith
School undergraduate program at Shady
Grove are required to meet with their
academic advisor each semester to ensure
that they are informed about current
requirements and procedures. If you are
unsure of your advisor please stop by
the 4th floor of building II for
assistance.
Career Advising
All Smith undergraduate students have
access to both the Robert H. Smith
School of Business
Office of Career Management and the
University of Maryland, Career Center
in Hornbake Library.
The Smith School Office of Career
Management has a main office on the
College Park Campus in Van Munching Hall
and a satellite office at the
Universities at Shady Grove. For walk-in
advising hours or to arrange an
appointment with your Smith School
