Smith Celebrates Seniors in Business Honors

On Monday, April 18, 2016, the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business hosted the annual Smith Business Honors Convocation dinner at the Riggs Alumni Center to celebrate graduating seniors and welcome newly admitted Business Honors students.

During the event, 20 graduating seniors were recognized for completing the program. Each senior shared a piece of advice derived from their experience at Smith, ranging from encouraging peers to find a faculty or staff mentor to taking advantage of all Smith and the University of Maryland have to offer.

Dina Broydo, an information systems and accounting major, was acknowledged for her Outstanding Leadership within Business Honors and for her tenure as co-chair for the program. Business Honors Faculty Director Charles Olson selected Allison Baker, an accounting and finance major, as the recipient of the Senior Academic Achievement certificate.

Patricia Cleveland and William McClenahan, faculty who teach in the program, were also in attendance.

Students in the Smith Business Honors program take Business Core courses in small, seminar-style sections and must maintain a 3.5 GPA. More information on Business Honors can be found on the program website.
