Ritu is
a Professor, and the Robert H. Smith Dean’s Chair of Information
Systems, at the Smith School. Her research is in the area of information
technology management. Her current research is
focused on the use of IT in healthcare settings, technology-enabled
transformations in the auto-retailing and printing sectors; and appropriate
strategies for the management of IT human capital.

Ritu is the founder and Director of the
Center for Health Information and Decision Systems
(CHIDS) at the Smith School. CHIDS is an academia-led effort with
collaboration from industry and government affiliates, designed to
research, analyze, and recommend solutions to challenges surrounding the
introduction and integration of information and decision technologies
into the health care system.
