Real Options' Resources

Books

There are now over a dozen books on real options.  The following is a list of thirteen books on real options.  Below the list is a very brief overview of these books to help you find one for your purposes.

Overview: The last eight books are edited volumes of articles written primarily by academics, intended for an audience of academics and/or sophisticated practitioners. The first two books are textbooks, but they tend to target the same audience as the edited collections, primarily (but not exclusively) those who are studying for, or have, a Ph.D. degree. Despite its title, the book by Moore only has three chapters devoted to real options. Amram and Kulatilaka’s book is written with a practitioner audience in mind, and focuses primarily on the use of “real options thinking” with less coverage of the analytics of valuation.  In contrast, the book by Copeland and Antikarov focuses more on valuation issues, and does so at a level aimed at practitioners. Reviews of these books, and other details, can be found at Amazon.com
