Paul Zantek received a Ph.D. from Purdue University (West Lafayette, Indiana) and a B.A. from Concordia College (Moorhead, Minnesota). His primary research and teaching interests are in applied statistics, data mining, and quality control. His research is published or forthcoming in various peer-reviewed journals, including Management Science, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, and the American Journal of Mathematical and Management Sciences. He is an affiliate faculty member in the Smith School's Department of Marketing and a faculty member in the University's Applied Mathematics and Scientific Computation Program. He currently teaches an M.B.A. elective course in data mining (BUDT 736) as well as two research methods courses in multivariate statistics for Smith School Ph.D. students (BMGT 882 and 883). He is a member of the American Statistical Association and the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS).
