EHR Adoption

CHIDS launches nationwide study of Electronic Health Record systems used in Physician offices

CHIDS is working with the American College of Physicians to launch a nationwide survey of physician practices. The study focuses on understanding factors that lead to decisions by physician practices regarding the adoption and use of electronic health record systems (EHRS). We examine the impact of EHRS adoption and use on multiple performance dimensions such as patient care and patient safety. Our hope is that insights gained from this study can help practices understand the measures they need to take to implement EHRS effectively. This project is being led by Professor Abhay Mishra of the Smith School of Business.
