Data ]
Nine eBay datasets used in "The BARISTA: A Model for Bid Arrivals in Online Auctions" by Shmueli, Russo, and Jank.
Description:
The datasets include information on bid timing (as well as additional information) for three different items: Palm PDAs, XBox game consoles, and Cartier premium wristwatches. All are for closed auctions on eBay.com. For each item the data are separated by auction duration (3,5, or 7 days). We thank Shanshan Wang and Sharad Borle for making some of these data available to us.

Palm Bid Histories for the paper "Visualizing Online Auctions"
The Excel file contains bid histories for 158 Palm M515
auctions that took place between 3-5/2003. Each auction spans several
rows, according to the number of bids placed. The first column is the auction ID.
The second column is the
bid amount placed by a user. The third column gives the date & time of
the bid. The fourth column lists the opening date & time of the auction.
The next columns provide information about the bidder's username and
rating. Note that the first (earliest) bid in each auction is the opening price selected by
the seller, and the first (earliest) time is the start of the auction. Similarly,
the last (latest) bid in each auction is the closing price, and the time is the closing time of
the auction. (download data) (Excel file)
