Ariel Ramirez, has over 21 years
of professional experience. He
has provided fraud investigative
and other services to Fortune
500 companies, private entities,
United States federal agencies
and foreign governments in
North, South and Central
America, the Caribbean, Eastern
Europe, Asia and the Middle
East. He has led hundreds of
interviews and interrogations in
English and Spanish and, through
interpreters, in Portuguese,
Cantonese, Mandarin, Arabic and
Russian. Throughout his entire
career he concurrently served
the nation in the armed forces
reserves for over 21 years -
first in the enlisted ranks of
the United States Marine Corps
Reserves and later, as a
commissioned Officer in the
United States Navy Reserves last
assigned to the Pentagon.
Ariel is Corporate Director of
Special Investigations and
Forensic Audit for a $107B
multinational with 480,000
employees in 190 countries where
he leads fraud investigation,
prevention, eradication and
training efforts in the Americas
and mostly working globally.
Prior to this role he served as
Principal and National practice
leader of a consulting firm and
responsible for the following
lines of service: Fraud &
Special Investigations;
Electronic Evidence &
E-Discovery; Forensic
Accounting; Litigation Support;
and Anti-Fraud Solutions. Ariel
also served as Director of
Disputes and Investigations for
Huron Consulting Group; National
Director, Fraud Services, for
Ernst & Young LLP; and as Senior
Consultant, Manager, Senior
Manager and Director at KPMG LLP.
Ariel is an adjunct Faculty
Professor at the University of
Maryland Smith School of
Business, where he teaches
graduate fraud investigation and
forensic accounting in the
Executive Masters Program. In
addition, he has presented to
corporations and professional
associations on fraud, FCPA and
internal audit topics.
He holds a BS in Computer
Science and MBA in International
Business from Tampa College and
holds the following
certifications: CFE, CIA, CFSA,
CGAP and CCSA. Ariel is Chairman
of the IIA Board of Governors
and Chapter President in
Northern Virginia for 2007-2008.
