Ronni Burns has been a consultant and a corporate officer as well as an award-winning speaker and educator for more than 25 years.  Currently, she is a Senior Vice President at Citigroup working as the North America Client advocate. to understand customer behavior and continuously improve their reputation and practices.  Her career at Citigroup includes serving as Director of Business Practices, Global Spokesperson, and the National Sales Manager for Citicorp Investment Services.

As a professor and consultant, Ms. Burns taught communications, effective presentations, consultative selling, management, ethics and appropriate workplace behavior to thousands of executives. Her clients included Aetna, A.G. Edwards, Citigroup, Credit Lyonnais, Cyber Dialogue, Dean Witter, Disney, Federated Investors, Fidelity, GE, Hewlett Packard, ING, Macquarie Bank, Merrill Lynch, Munich-American Risk Partners, Nike Securities, Oppenheimer Funds, PaineWebber, Raymond James, and Sinclair Broadcasting.

Ms. Burns has been a Senior Fellow teaching Communications at the Robert H. Smith School of Business since 2002.  Her pleasure is working with executives to improve their communication skills, focusing on persuasive communication and presentation skills.  Ms. Burns has been an Adjunct Professor of Communications at the University of Connecticut, has lectured at New York University’s Stern School of Business and taught regularly at the Wharton School for Executive Education. She has been a speaker at numerous industry leadership conferences. Ms. Burns was a Trustee at the Securities Industry Association for 10 years, serving on the curriculum committee. She also served on the Board of the Institute for Rational Living, and was a pro bono consultant to Save the Children.

In her book "Communication Essentials: A Sell-abration", 2001, Ms. Burns shares her insights into the complicated business of building relationships.   She offers practical suggestions for communicating with maximum impact through “tailored communication”

Professor Burns holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Arts in Communication Science from the University of Connecticut. She holds NASD licenses Series 7, 22, 24 and 63.
