  • G. “Anand” Anandalingam was named dean in 2008.
  • Every student admitted to the PhD program receives full financial support in the form of a graduate assistantship or fellowship.
  • Smith is the only school in the Baltimore-Washington, D.C., area with top-ranked undergraduate and graduate business programs.
  • The school was named the Robert H. Smith School of Business in 1998 in recognition of a $15 million endowment gift from Robert H. Smith ('50), co-chairman and co-chief executive officer of the Charles E. Smith Companies.
  • Van Munching Hall is the home of the Smith School of Business. A 103,300 square foot expansion project was completed in September 2002. A $20-million north wing expansion, adding 38,000 s.f. was finished in late 2007. A south wing expansion project is underway in 2011.
  • The Smith School has a bilingual Web site hosted in China.
